Tackles of that sort which take man and ball 2 footed were outlawed way back and was only going to get the yellow it deserved. Robbens overreaction was blatant cheating (all teams seem to have too many) but whether he hits the deck or not, it is a sending off offence to grab another player by the throat and he might have gone anyway.
Not one thing wrong with the refs decisions. Truth is the idiot gave him no choice.
Not much of a game though. The pitch did not help but hardly a good advert for 2 top league sides. Seems Pools main chances come from high balls from set pieces but the man bought for his heading prowess isn't much good at it in open play because he lacks direction and power. More chance from corners and free kicks when tall men can be bought forward....not a good situation.
Neither is the fact that SG is so uninspired again lately, certainly wasted out wide but not sure if it would make any difference wherever he played today because he only seems to play well in short patches.
