There's a very entertaining and very tabloid story doing the rounds in the Norwegian papers today, about John Arne Riise trying to pick up about 20-30 Norwegian celeb-girls - by sending the SAME text message to every one of them. He seems to have more fluff in his head than, you guessed it, Beckham.
Needless to say, there aren't that many celebs in this country - and many of them therefore hang out on a regular basis. Some of them found out they'd got the same text message, where Riise says something like "Good evening ... after calling a LOT of people, I've finally managed to get hold of your number. I've always thought you' were charming, sweet and lovey, and, not least, you seem like a challenge. ;-) Hope we can stay in touch, and that, of course, I will ask you out on a romantic dinner for two. ;) kisses from John Arne Riise love"
written by a ten-year-old. Very clumsy stuff.
He also told the Norwegian fashion editor of Cosmopolitan that they should become "Norway's Posh & Beckham". Nice!
He won't comment on the story, but the text messages are real enough. And his mom, who is notoriously outspoken in Norway, has come to his defence. "He's single and tries to get a date. There's nothing wrong with that." etc. etc.
It's the top story right here now:
Hilarious.
Try to babelfish it if you're desperate, but I'm guessing the english tabloids will pick up on this tomorrow. They should, it's friggin entertaining.
