I agree, we still carry a lot of mediocrity, but we have replaced with mediocre at some cost as well,

Sissoko is clbutt, and will replace Hamann, the others are no improvement on what we had, really!

Figo of RM, well, shocker, we get shafted by RM again, and again - he didn't want to come to us,

Gonzales we have, currently injured, , but hopefully he will come through & come good,

Del+ CRouch has yet to be given a chance. PRe season form he linked up really well with CissZ. For me it is too early to judge him. Ditto with Reina...

I suggest 2 CBs, squad player and replacement for Hyppia, we need quality LW as well, with replacements,

We should have been expecting to challenge top 3, maybe not the very top, but closer, you really think we have improved that much that we will be up there?

uninspiring signings
Very sensible view. I am far from convinced that Benitez is the right man for Pool, I doubt his ability to inspire the club and was amazed by...

Anyway, transfer window is closed, we await January sales, or better still, have next summer in mind as long term rebuild & squad improvement, or better still, have 3 or 4 youth players actually come good and give the 1st team a run for their money, but, there is no substitute for quality & depth, and Spurs will run us close for 4th, with their good UK youth signings, and others will be in the mix at the end, and we need CL football to continue to improve.
