From what I know, Kuijt is the target man at Feyenoord.I don't know what he could offer in place of Crouch or even if those two could ever play well together.
I would imagine Kuijt would require some time to get used to the speed and lack of space in the Premiership after playing in the Dutch league, but the chances of having a long run in the team are probably very slim. I expect Rafa is only looking at him in the hope of including Kromkamp in the deal to save some money. If he wants to go Dutch in search of a striker, then he'd be better of looking at Huntelaar of Ajax.
Kuijt's dad is seriously ill at the moment and Kuijt has said that, as a result, he would only be prepared to leave Holland for the right move. He's a hero at Feyenoord and I don't know whether he would want to risk a move where he may not be guaranteed of a regular place in the staring line-up. Maybe Newcastle can offer him that, as they seem to do with all their recent signings.
