I am disappointed that Luis Figo is not going to Liverpool. His wife wants to live in Milan.
I am concerned that Liverpool look flat or half asleep without Stevie Gerrard. Luis Figo is another player who would drive Liverpool on.
Liverpool will be lucky to get fourth place. Rafael Benitez although a great coach is Spanish. He understands Spanish(or Spanish speaking) players, the European Champions League and La Liga. Not the Premiership.
Thoughts on the present players:-
Reina = Great goalkeeper Traore = Can be very good but loses concentration. Finan = good workaday Premier League player Hyypia = slow and past his best but still vital. Carragher = Brilliant Gerrard = 'Send on Stevie' Hamann = Getting on a bit but still makes a very important contribution as helps stop the other team playing. Potter = Too young but has potential. Zenden = past his best but can cross the ball skillfully.Good technique which Liverpool lack at times. Kewell = Always injured Riise = Good left sided player, plenty of energy. Not so sure how well he covers.Great shot. Luis Garcia = Great shot on occasions but often loses the ball and pbutting could be better. Sinama Pongolle = Too much a similar type of player to Luis Garcia but stronger where Garcia is weaker. Crouch = This 'beanpole' will often be injured. Doesn't seem to fit into Liverpool. Can be useful in certain games. Probably kept quiet by a clbutt defender. Morientes = Seems happier when playing alonside Baros. Couldn't 'cut the mustard' at Real Madrid. Cisse = One of Liverpool's few clbutt acts. Baros = Has faults, head down forgetting the rest of the other players but can scare defences. I hope he doesn't leave. Sissoko = Early days but his energy and drive look promising. Josemi = Yet to prove his worth. Alonso = Great player, good technique and pbutting. A definite plus along with Carragher,Gerrard and Cisse. Whitbread = Shows promise. Medjani = Will keep Josemi out of the team. Warnock = Ask in a couple of years. Mellor = Injured. Great goal against Arsenal.
I have probably missed a few players and a number of points but Stephen Gerrard will be relied on too much.
Possible U.E.F.A cup winners and 4th-5th-6th place in the league.
Anybody agree ?
