I think you have an axe to grind with regard to SAF and need to put it aside when reading such articles. He's most likely doing what he can, but he's also being rational. He's not the physio and he's had decades first hand experience with player recovery from injury. This isn't the dark ages of footy anymore, Dave, the long view must be taken, rather than rush the player back into the fray the minute he can stand and with a pocket of painpersons.
Le Tallec's fifth goal of the seasonenough to make him Sunderland's top scorer as he prepares to return to Liverpool at the end of a season on loan." kind of fitting then that a Liverpool...
I think SAF, for all the moaning about him, has done wonders with Rooney. Rooney is settling down and becoming a highly effective player. (Which is why he's so highly valued for the WC team.) Without that guidance he'd still be the undisciplined knob they got from Everton and who'd give a flying fcuk for him in the World Cup?
Call that progress 58RED DEVIL I disagree. We did have very few injuries, but I don't see you mentioning such things when discussing Utd's treble winning season, where your luck in the injury department was even better...
That's a very narrow view to take. If you don't like how much football people earn then switch to sommat else where the wages and behaviour are a match to your likings.
My word. I had no idea there were so many orthopaedic surgeons in Manchester.
Here it is broken again.
Recently I broke another bone, right clavicle, and as it's close under the skin it was very easy to monitor it's progress in healing. Even as the bone knit it was apparent that physical strain had to be limited for months afterward. Bones swell while knitting and tissue around the bone becomes very sore and sensitive for weeks. He could well have that foot in plaster for weeks and engage in some forms of exercise, but he'll be off balance due to some muscle atrophy when the foot comes out which would probably require 2 to 3 weeks to recover from. I figure he's out 8 weeks minimum. Possibly able to come into action for the last two rounds, but by then he's not in sync with the team. What's the point other than clutching at straws?
