On what is an important day of World Cup qualifiers up to seven Liverpool players could be in action as their respective countries take another step along the road to Germany 2006.

The main focus will be on the Group 6 clash at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, where the Reds have supplied three members of the England squad that takes on Wales.

Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher are both likely to start for Sven's men, while Stephen Warnock could be on the bench after being called up to the senior squad for the first time.

Victory for England will put them in pole position for a place in next year's tournament but the prospect of Sami Hyypia's Finland joining them is a bleak one. Djibril Cisse will be looking to get among the goals as France take on the minnows from the Faroe Islands in Lens. Victory for the French will set them up nicely for Wednesday's vital qualifying clash against Eire in Dublin, while a win is of equal importance to John Arne Riise's Norway. The Norwegian's are Slovenia today and three points could take them to within a point of Group 5 leaders Italy.
