Actually we pbutted the ball quite well for most of the game but all got knocked off the ball too easily, only SG-MP-JC-SH had any mettle and his(SG) display was indifferent to say the least, if he REALLY was half the player he's made out to be he would have picked the game up by the "scruff of the neck" and slotted a few easy goals....... it was never to be.
RB didn't want to risk any injuries imo(you know,during a season with some rather alarming injuries) whilst maintaining an effective team......given his options it was not going to be very effective, the match stats bear this out.
the 3 5 2 was a f***en mess, Traore is no midfielder, these things always back fire (baros going off.....not that they didn't kick the poo out of him, no). Dowie knew what game to play, he's not got a degree in knitting for nothing. get at them, they'll back off not wanting to jeopoardise Wednesday. It was an easy game for them in this sense.
Both eyes on Wednesday for all.(LFC wise) Benitez is tantalisingly close to THE prize in European football, the EPL is a f***ing distraction for him imho.
Playing your best 11 is surely the easiest option but time and again managers don't for a variety of reasons, on Saturday the reason was Wednesday.
