Chill out mate, I wasn't defending his actions. I was disputing some of the very common untruths and lies that still get regurgetated about it all. Thats what...

The point I was trying to make (two actually) is that Haaland wasn't completely innocent in the matter, there was some provocation. Now that said it was an awful foul but one of many I've witnessed. There are a good two dozen or so fouls every season that would be considered as bad if not worse than that one. Some go completely unpunished. The second point is I do not understand the perpetuation of this story that Keane ended Haaland's career, to his credit Haaland did come out and state that it indeed it was not the case. That should be enough for the normal football fan to understand, but no we are talking Roy Keane here! Haaland had long carried a injury to the other leg, he had been having treatment on it for quite a long time. There was nothing in the Keane tackle that had any impact on the injury that forced him into retirement, this is common knowledge however there are plenty that want to continue this myth, its more dramatic and carries with it the hate that many have for Keane. It's an incorrect claim and most people know this, just like they know that Denis Law's goal against United in the 70's didn't relegate United to the 2nd Division, it had no relevance on the matters at hand!
