I wouln't try to do so, but some do have ambitions which go beyond cash only.
OK, but the real point is that fans only hold these views where football is concerned. They expect different standards from players in their career moves than they would consider in their own. How many who will boo SG disloyalty ( if he moves) have not worked hard for a company, given all they can -and a bit more- because of loyalty to the firm, been promoted within it, advanced upwards, but still accepted a move which appears to be a good career choice. It happens every day without the word loyalty being considered. But not in football. Fans will fall back on that lack of loyalty claim as it eases the rejection they feel ( god knows why) if they exchange the high opinions they once held and exchange them for the only option they now have in order to devalue or even hate the player.

No I don't. They players I mention, plus a few thousand others, have a club buttociation which goes much further than contractural agreements. I suggest that they now have a loyalty which they had at earlier clubs but at a different time and under different circumstances. Can you really doubt Lampards early affection for West Ham, with all its family buttociations, or that he felt a deep loyalty to that club? Do you think his Chelsea logo kissing is not just as genuine now? I just cannot accept that loyalty means a lifetimes dedication through thick and thin and regardless of anything else. It can be genuinely felt, then later be erroded, but possibly rekindled elsewhere . SG probably thought that he could get everything he wanted from his career at Anfield. This romantic dream probably paid a large part in his affections for his club. Times can change all things, even the most deeply held emotions or opinions.
Both.....if he is clever enough -))
SG
Maybe so, but it is dangerous to guess at other peoples motives. If he left it would be very convenient for the boo boys to think it was only for money. Past comments seem to suggest otherwise.
We have probably done this topic to rest. Thanks for your thoughts.
