Steve Finnan - 7.5 - More than OK actually. Useful at right back and a useful attacking resource to have too. Sami Hyypia - 8 - Lack of pace more than adequately compensated by his awareness. Hope...

Commentary By Daniel Bergenn:

AMIDST all the euphoria and excitement about our Liverpool team these days, I have noticed a strange occurrence. Perhaps it exemplifies who our manager would like his team to be built upon but it certainly seems a bit strange to me.

Daniel Agger, David Martin and Martin Hansen - great young players but who have one thing in common - they are all defensive players. I can see a great young side being built up in our reserves - Carson, Roque, Antwi, Hobbs, Barragan, Martin, Hansen and so on but where are our attack-minded players? So far, I see only one young striking talent brought in, Ramon Calliste (and only on a one-year contract), but he is alone where that is concerned. I would loke to see some lads like Theo Walcott, Arturo Lupoli, Giuseppe Rossi, Carlton Cole etc coming out of our reserve side or being brought in but where are they? Our senior strikers have not been in such great form either (It has been a long time since one of our strikers have topped the Premiership goalscoring charts!). If we are to keep on relying on Gerrard or Garcia to pop in the goals, then we are certainly missing something up front. So why are we not getting some young strikers in? You may say that we have Le Tallec and Pongolle but they have been here for quite some time and have yet to make an impact.

So I do hope that we bring in some attacking talent soon or we may just see our new strikeforce of the future - Djimi Traore and Godwin Antwi!
