You don't seriously think Ted intends to turn up do you? He's already blown it by saying the 300 miles to meet me isn't a problem because he was 'going there any way', athough I hadn't yet told him where he had to go!

No this meeting is a smokescreen. Ted has been asked to provide proof to back up his claims of arse kicking on usenet and basically he can't. He therefore also throws out a challenge knowing full well that I won't accept it (who in their right mind would meet a previously anonymous usenet poster who has already shown worrying traits, who is now prepared to travel 300 miles for no other reason than to have a pint). When everyone rightly calls him a poohouse for not posting his proof he will say I'm a poohouse for not turning up at his meeting. His insurance is that if I did turn up he won't be there, so can then claim a victory because he sent me on a wild goose chase.

Ted's desperate because he knows I can post evidence tomorrow of he probably remembers the instances. He also knows he can't! He's clutching at straws now and this is the last desperate attempt of someone trying to salvage the tiny bit of usenet cred they've got.

It would be pitiful if it wasn't so bleedin' funny!
