Interesting! I have been wondering where Pools improved form puts them compared with other league sides. Man U have a big advantage now, with only domestic games to think about, and there are signs of a return to form and maybe consistancy? Realistically, I fancy their forwards put them a shade ahead of Pool right now. But maybe Pool will continue to improve? Hard to call, but certainly don't expect Man U tp drop many points. They did beat Chelsea and are close enought to that side now to provide the incentive for a decent second half to the season.
Even so. that Chelsea record of scoring 5 goals for every one conceded probably makes them too good to be caught. Of the other contenders for top 4 I think Spurs are still improving and performing as well as Pool right now. Bolton will stay in contention, and even though Arsenal were well beaten by Chelsea, they still have a lot of clbutt in that side and will want a top 4 spot. They are behind Pool on current form but like Man City and W Ham, capable of putting a big run together.
Pool shouldn't drop many points in their next 3 games, but he following early Jan games (away to Bolton and Man U and home to Spurs) could be vital.
All guesswork. We will know a lot more by the end of Feb.
