"They" means everyone. Every manager in all the leagues who buy to improve the side in the hope of finishing top.
Dead right it does, and Chelsea are jammy buggers to be in their position right now, and my admiration for the managers of smaller spending clubs, like Wigan, is greater
But this does not mean that I have to find reasons to knock the success of luckier and richer clubs. But it seems from your reply you still avoid the basic question. If, unfortunately, all clubs now buy their teams, what is the essential difference between 2 purchased sides if one is put together relatively quickly and another which takes longer because of lesser spending power?
The amount spent on any individual player is pretty irrelevant, as Venger has proved so often, there will always be good and bad buys, but why this objection to a team which is able to do it quickly simply because others are forced to do exactly the same thing a shade slower.
Both sides spending tens of millions to get the team they want and both with the same objective, but just a different time scale.
Raffa has often stated that he is only 2 or three players away from being able to compete as at least equal with Chelsea, a view often repeated in here. If it is true, and he uses the cash now available, and improves his skills in the market, with more cash next year, and then suceeds in winning the Prem, what the hell has he done which is any different to Chelsea last season and this?
If identical practices differ only in time taken they cease to be identical???? That seems to be your argument, but it does not stand up to inspection.
JM managed to get that side to gell quicker than most expected despite opinions (mine included) that they would fall flat. His team are one of the fittest I have seen, and the most consistant anyone has seen, and they have a great team spirit. His man management is second to none, proven by a reserve keeper who could walk into almost any other Prem side extending his contract yesterday. You don't get this with cash alone.
As the original poster said, there is lots to admire about that side.

You have to hand it to the special oneJM plays to the gallery. He likes to be controversial, and he likes to say and do the "unexpected". His displays of magnanimity are nothing more than an attempt to undercut...
