Pope Pompous XVIII

You tell me. This is a logical trap, because it doesn't make any more sense (for your position) if you turn it around: That Rafa was responsible when it went wrong for him, and that Houllier (and more or less his old squad) was responsible when it went the right way for Rafa.

Much weaker teams? That's a good one.

You conveniently forget to mention that the second worst team of last season got 30 points, which makes your claim about "much weaker teams" ridiculous. You can also see from the 2001-2002 table that the team in, say, 16th place only got 40 points, while the 16th placed team last season got 42. And so on and so forth.

Btw, Leicester got 28 points in the 2001-2002 season.

Yes, you tell yourself that if it makes you feel more comfortable.

A Scientific Experiment
What I found mystifying was that in the same interview Benitez said we now have the players to combat the physical game of Bolton and the like...

I believe it's more a question of whether or not you are able to explain WHY you feel Benitez isn't making progress after two seasons and seven league games of the third in charge at Anfield. It seems you aren't.

There you go.

You ask why people aren't criticising Rafa after two seasons in charge, when they criticised Houllier. First of all, no one criticised Houllier after two seasons. No one. They started criticising him when things went seriously downhill, and the football was as dreary and as dreadful as anything you can think of.

Again, I want you to explain WHY we should criticise Rafa now. What is it that makes you say he isn't progressing after TWO seasons in charge?

You see, that isn't a point. That's just saying he might fail - or he might not. Which makes the summary of your point look like this: So f*cking what? Of course he might fail, and of course he might succeed. It might rain tomorrow, it might not.

John Shocked John Shocked Finally, help is on the way to combat Organized Crime Gambling division inflitration and corruption of sports like World Soccer. Now all that is necessary is for the UK...

I want you to explain why you feel Rafa is taking things backwards after winning the CL in his first season, then the FA cup and ending with 82 points in the PL in his second. How do you construe this to be the opposite of progress? What are your benchmarks? Are you basing your claim on the first seven seasons of this season? If so, you know that's useless.
