awkward threat?
He does what he does well very well indeed. But, doesn't do enough things well enough to merit a first team place. Whilst his work-rate, his ability to run at defences and his commitment on the field can be excellent, he has failed to developed his awareness, pbutting ability and link play to a standard high enough to be considered a first team regular.

His composure in front of goal can be poor, and although I don't have the actual figures, it seems to me that his conversion percentage (chances to goals) is woefully inadequate. As a striker he's not prolific, yet he doesn't appear to have the ability to be a more creative forward; providing chances for others that would mitigate his lacklustre scoring ratio. I said in here before the season started that I didn't think he'd turn out to be our 20+ a season man, regardless of the Euro 2004 hype. I hoped to be proved wrong, but alas..
All in all, he's been a good servant and I'd be happy for him to remain at the club, but as no more than a squad player. However, he'll not be happy warming the bench, so I fully expect him to move on in the summer.
