This is very true, it's absolute nonsense by Parry. Players are only worth as much as people are prepared to pay for them, it has nothing to do with being held to ransom. Is Owen worth £17Million? Yes he must be to Newcastle because that's how much they paid. No, of course not in the greater world where doctors, nurses and teachers are paid a fraction of that but since when did the price of footballers reflect the real importance of the job.
