If you're saying "caused" then the authorities seem to think that structural problems with the stadium actually "caused" the rests. Maybe you'd like to use "contributed" or "exacerbated" instead of "caused."

Funny, didn't see anything about the law courts other than 14 liverpool fans being convicted of INVOLUNTARY MANdissolution with half of them having their sentence suspended. I wonder why? Are you under the impression that this means that Liverpool fans are completely responsible for the rests of 39 Italians. Nothing about stabbings, missiles, fighting. How convenient.
You sure read things subjectively. The courts found just more than a dozen Liverpool fans guilty of involuntary mandissolution. The courts didn't blame the Heysel disaster on them. They found them complicit in the rests of the Italians. There's a VAST difference between what you're attempting to say and the reality of what happened.

No, they did not. They convicted 14 fans of INVOLUNTARY mandissolution and suspended half of those sentences. That tells you plenty about the incident and what the courts believed whether you wish to ignore it or not.
