Unbelievable

I have watched all Liverpool's european wins and this ranks as the best. Watched tonight with my 10 year old son and we both ended the night in tears - having spent much of the 120 minutes in tears for one reason or another. Coming from 3-0 down at half time, having been outplayed by an AC side, who were outstanding to be fair, just beggars belief. I didn't think it possible and it still hasn't sunk in fully. This is what the club are about and congratulations to all involved.

I personally couldn't give a pooe about Stephen Gerrard staying or going and commentators obsession about it - we've won teh Champions League fir f**ks sake!

For whht its worth, in my opinion there was no Liverpool player who merited a rating of more than 5 in first half but several heroes in second half and what came after:

Dudek - 9. Don't think he's a top drawer keeper but man of the match tonight. Saves from Shevcheko at end of ET incredible. Finnan - 6. Nothing terrible or special, just typical of first half. Traore - 7. Thought he was our worst player, but gets extra points for great clearance off line in second half. Hyypia - 7.5 Found out by pace and movement of Crespo and Shevchenko in first half but solid in second. Carragher -8.5. again troubled by AC pace but what a defender when the pressure is on - last gasp interventions when legs barely working through cramp. Garcia - 7. Fairly typical perfromance, moment sof genius interspersed with stupidity. Unlucky not to get penalty. Kewell - 6. Looked up for it early on but hard to tell given early injury. Alonso - 7. Superb player but one of poorest games I've seen him play; had balls to take penalty and followed it up well. Gerrard - 8. Poor first half but inspired comeback though goal and penalty. Excellent in ET when at right-full on Serginho. Riise - 7.5. Worked hard as usual an dalways available as an outlet on left. Baros - 6. Poor, couldn't hold ball up and did little when had space. Hope to see him in Valencia jersey shortly.

Subs Smicer - 7.5. Don't rate him but possibly one of his finest games in a red jersey, including well taken goal. Hamann - 8.5. Shouldn't have been left on bench and excellent when came on in holding role in middle. Reduced space available to Kaka and played huge role. Ciise - 7. Should have been on earlier but didn't do anything great, albeit with little support in ET.

Manager Benitez -10. Magnificent to take a team from 3-0 down to winning the champions league. Changes at half-tome (maybe forced into some) worked and has restored pride to th team.
