We don't know what his wage demands would be yet. Baros will, imo, be shipped out at the end of the season, due to his lack of finishing consistency, and inability to develop more to his game in terms of pbutting, decision making, link play and so on. Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see him stay, but don't think he'd merit a starting place week in, week out with other options available (and he wouldn't be happy with that).
But without speculation there is no ambition. You have to speculate to develop your ambitions.
You make a good point, I totally agree about building a team of younger talent for long-lasting success.
At no point have I ever said he would be a good signing, but just that I think it's worth considering (and I'm sure Raffa is doing just that). It's surely good to speculate about how any available player might enhance the team, then look at if it's feasible in terms of wages, age, fitness, ect.
Roger was right in what he said about top-clbutt experienced pros giving guidance and advice to younger players (provided they have the right attitude). I'm sure Cisse, Baros, Mellor, FSP could all learn a thing or two from an experienced international like Vieri (sure Baros has bags of international experience himself, but he hasn't seemed to have learnt how to broaden his game).
Older players can still cut it at the highest level, provided they've kept themselves in shape. Just look at Cafu at Inter Milan, still planting up and down that wing like he was a 20 yr old.
