Why? My opinion is correct. It is wrong to castigate *any* player simply because of a media witchhunt.
I did. I saw a player make a bad challenge, even an unsporting one, but to judge it on slow motion replays and react the way Pearce has seems completely wrong to me. Eszpecially considering the comments that came from him directly after the game. Do you remember those?
Maybe they could simply have let the FA and the "powers that be" deal with it. Isn't that the way it is supposed to work? If the FA cannot, then why not?
I stand by my view that Pearce reacted simply because of the media "overkill" on the challenge. The incident would not have been picked up on had Mendez got straight up after the challenge. Similar challenges occur week in, week out and are not the subject of such incredible over reactions.
