Half full or half empty.... 2383Del+ overly. no poo. Arsenal have got one, guess what, he drew a blank today. poo happens. we're not, ah well, lets all get frumpy and...
All true. Looking back over plenty of years I find it hard to remember a Prem winning side which did not cobble plenty of lucky results together or played only just well enough to win. But most of these sides had shown that they had another gear when needed and that their basic game was of a far higher standard.
Pool fans are waiting to see this proved and that is why performance is watched with such interest. We all know they can play a decent game but even 4th spot might take some getting this year. It is unlikely that Everton's 61pts will be good enough this time. No doubt that the top three also had some unlucky dropped points last year and if Chelsea had managed to swing just 3 of their 8 drawn games into wins we would be looking at a Prem winning side who gathered over 100 pts out of the possible 114.
The next Prem winners are unlikely to get that many but it puts into perspective the scale of Pools task. A 100% winning home record with 1pt average for each away game (the current form) is OK but might not be good enough for top 4 when you consider that there will be a few other improving sides with ambitions for 4th or better.
The start is ok, but they don't yet look like a side who have plenty in reserve and confident of getting 4 or 6 pts in the season from teams like Spurs or Bolton and others do they? They are still far from being the finished article. But it's early days. One thing is certain. They could have done without that idiotic decision which Benetiz proudly announced last week.
Off to Japan.....in December for god sake...to take part in that ridiculous and meaningless world team nonsense to play teams from Sydney or Costa Rica?? The Prem, League Cup, FA Cup and Euro Champions Cup are not enough to test the reserves of the team? The mans a fool, and it could cost something more valuable than that empty FIFA trophy by the end of the season.
What's the problem 2380POD {ñÀî} I think everyone is expecting a lot more. yes, true, not only that, I thought the midweek...
Gerrard substituted after just 2 Prem games because he played in a friendly on Wednesday?? Just wait until January and February!
