Hope your club's better runWednesday's game has seen CFC plummet to the depths of ineptness. They advertised, several weeks ago, that a train would run to Liverpool for the match. £58 return, which whilst...
Bloody hell! I didn't think any football fan could still think anything can be proven by comparing results like this? It don't work. It never did. Performances differ week to week and maybe even more season to season. The time, injuries, luck and lots of other things, like confidence from recent results, play a part in performance. Except for very good sides of course. They have a level of consistancy which overcomes these variables most times.
The only way to judge a team is to do it despite short term results or direct comparisons like these. The biggest problem Pool have right now is not whether they have improved (if they have it seems marginal) but the fact that so many sides which started with apparently further to go seem to have improved more noticably.?
Bolton, Man City, Spurs, West Ham, Barnsley and even Blackburn under Sparkies management, have developed a style and method far quicker than Benitez has managed to do. The Pool league position, even allowing for the dubious advantage of games in hand, reflects the fact that, no matter how good their players are, at this moment they have been out managed by too many of those sides who will be competing for a top 4 spot.

Did I mention Charlton? ....a burst from Newcastle maybe?
He was so very lucky last year, but time is fast running out for him to show he can put a Prem side together with a system good enough to compete with better led and equally ambitious sides. I have doubted it for months, but I might still be proved wrong. Is he more than a waffler who is out of his depth?
