Liverpool Echo, 29 June 2005 Reds poised to make move for Zenden By David Prentice, Liverpool Echo
LIVERPOOL are ready to snap up Dutch winger Boudewijn Zenden, who becomes a free agent on Friday.
The 28-year-old Middlesbrough star has failed to reach agreement with the Teesiders on a new deal - and Rafa Benitez is keen to add him to his Champions League winning squad.
No contact has been made yet, but the Reds will swoop as soon as Zenden's deal with Boro expires at the end of this week.
The player is represented by his father, Pierre, who said: "Money is not an issue for Boudewijn.
"Where the club stands in terms of Champions League or UEFA Cup is really important.

He impressed during Middlesbrough's visit to Anfield on April 30 and Benitez is hopeful they can reach agreement.
Misfit midfielder Bruno Cheyrou, meanwhile, has joined Vladimir Smicer at Bordeaux, on loan with a view to a permanent move.
The 27-year-old spent last season on loan at Marseille.
The Reds have confirmed the dates and venues of their Champions League qualifying round matches against Total Network Solutions.
