Years of conditioning and opression can do a lot simon. Most people including some black people don't even think about what the word coloured means. It's only when you think about it and examine the orgins of the term you realsie how insulting it is (see my recent post). I would suggest your black friends who think the word is ok have head their heads in the sand for a long time.
And you think one is as bad as the other? pffff
a message to Jay 4203you would you like to say that to them? we could all feel bad about alot of things if we went back down the time line. i'm sure there are a few...
See my post to Diablos Rojes re the MOBOs
Really? Won't that be more to do with the fact that the asian ceremony ceremony and maybe even things like embalming etc might be very different from the British way of dealing with the dead? Would you say a kosher butcher is racist because he only supplies meat prepared in the Jewish tradition?
You really are stupid sometimes Simon. Black power t-shirts in the 60s were all about fighting the oppression blacks were getting in the US (and other countries). Rose Parks died last week, go do a google search and learn!
Bernie The Bolt -- 'Rush and Aldridge looked very alike so when Rushie signed for Juventus we sent Aldridge instead. We thought we'd got away with it then a Trading Standards officer turned up. We eventually had to send the real Rush and to make matters worse the officer found that all the shirts in the club shop were pirate ones bought from a stall in Great Homer St Market. It was a very embarrbutting time for the club.' - Kenny Dalglish
