a message to Jay 4206So is 'Music of Latin Origin' racist also? Aren't you aware that some music groups are categorised by a name...
Think about it.
Is white a colour? If so then why are white people not included in the bracket 'coloured people'?
The term coloured people was coined by whites who clearly felt that if you weren't white you were coloured. It doesn't take a genius to work out that those whites saw their skin tone as superior and therefore bracketed the non-whites with this term coloured.
It's not been socially acceptable for years, I'm surprised you even asked!
Are you aware you can be white and win a MOBO award? That's why people like Justin Timberlake and Eminem have won them. The awards are for Music of Black 'Origin', just like there are probably similar awards around the wordl for Latin music, Celtic, Country etc etc.
Picking on MOBOs and trying to prove 'reverse racism' is a tactic used quite often by racists, they point at MOBOS and say 'oh look, blacks are racist cos they have awards for blacks only', that's rubbish and again I'm surprised I've had to explain to you that MOBOs are not black only awards.
I'm not calling you racist here, you clearly don't know much about the subject, but that being the case you'd be wise not to spout out too much until you've learnt some more about it.
Bernie The Bolt -- 'Rush and Aldridge looked very alike so when Rushie signed for Juventus we sent Aldridge instead. We thought we'd got away with it then a Trading Standards officer turned up. We eventually had to send the real Rush and to make matters worse the officer found that all the shirts in the club shop were pirate ones bought from a stall in Great Homer St Market. It was a very embarrbutting time for the club.' - Kenny Dalglish
