So is 'Music of Latin Origin' racist also?
Aren't you aware that some music groups are categorised by a name that someone has thought up eg punk, country but some are categorised by the part of the world it comes from eg celtic, latin etc. Black origin music is a bit more complex because though it's roots are in Africa, the slave trade meant that a lot of black people ended up in the States and South America, so we have African origin music created by black people living in other parts of the world, hence the word black being used as opposed to a specific region. If you have a problem with the word black being used instead of Africa then blame our grandfathers for stealing black people and shipping them all over the world against their will!

The above paragraph answers this. We have lots of awards where white music is honoured, but it is usually region specific. If whites had been shipped to all corners of the world and had their culture disrupted then maybe they too would need to try and embrace their music culture in a ceremony. But slavery didn't happen to whites so there's no need. Therefore if someone organised Music of White Origin Awards they would almost certainly be racist.
I don't know why I'm bothering with all this, I doubt if you'll understand (or want to!)
Actually if there weren't people like me there wouldn't be race rows and we'd still be seeing adverts for jobs saying 'no blacks or Irish'
Bernie The Bolt -- 'Rush and Aldridge looked very alike so when Rushie signed for Juventus we sent Aldridge instead. We thought we'd got away with it then a Trading Standards officer turned up. We eventually had to send the real Rush and to make matters worse the officer found that all the shirts in the club shop were pirate ones bought from a stall in Great Homer St Market. It was a very embarrbutting time for the club.' - Kenny Dalglish
