at the moment, yes.

i think in each of our away league games this season he has selected the wrong midfield.

gerrard should not be playing on the left-hand side end of story.

at the moment he seems to be playing the sven trick of selecting his best players, rather than players to fit the system.

added to this (i know agger needs blooding) you should not unncessacarily split up centre-half partnerships.

individuals also hold some responsibility:

reina - i wish he would stop f***ing about and start catching the ball. additionally he has been threatening to concede a free kick for handling outside the box from his kicks for two years. the surprise today should not be that the linesman got it wrong, but that it hasn't happened sooner.

pennant - yet to see any real commitment from him or a decent cross (that set-up for garcia in the week was a chip inside the box). he also has made no effort to support his full-back defensively - once of the biggest reasons why we have fallen foul of so many crosses into the box (see also garcia).

bellamy - seems to be hiding.

alonso - sorry to say it, i know he has talent in abundance - but this man is just too slow. at home or in europe where invariably he has more time on the ball he can deliver, but away? i am not sure he is up to it. he rarely closes down attacks well enough and leaves *all* the donkey work to sissoko.

garcia - blessed with enviable talent, but really needs to start considering the consequences of his actions in all areas of the pitch.

all in all, overwhelmingly disappointed with our away form - confidence seems to have sunk through the floor (see the panic in midweek for further evidence). we now need a monumental performance to tip things back in our favour.
