Kind on hypocritical, i.e "it does NOT work". We are talking about poverty in this country versus others, in this country we have a safety net albeit not 100% perfect therefore f*** every other nation that is suffering. If that it not treating things as black and white then what is?

We *are* the 4th richest country in the world and given our population that is pretty rich. We can argue all day about how wide and comfortable the safety net should be and how comfortable it should be for those that fall into it. I have covered in another reply how I find how the US treats those that have no value to their economy as abhorrent. The fact still is that we have no real poverty in a worldwide send. In this country "below the poverty line" is people with the lowest x% of income - by that definition there will always be people below. Your claim that people are not let off their debt in this country was wrong, with endowment refunds and the option of bankruptcy - many bankrupts go on to live successful lives and some commit dissolution - but nothing forces them. Your attempts to respin your chav comment:

into some claim about how you care for the poor and disadvantaged does not wash because it defies logic that is what you really meant. You whole argument then became that the problem with Africa is that there are too may Africans.

In the same way some guy are the Garwick club that bought badly on the stock market and has a 2 year old Merc is relatively impoverished.

Well good luck with the new kid! Yes I earn more that you (short term contract though so who knows in 3 months), I have no idea what I give to charity (before you ask) as I tend to give whimsically, i.e. tsumami, random feelings of guilt etc, probably not enough.

Anyway enough of this, esp when 32 million is being mentioned for one man.
