funny how all the "critics", "journos" and "pundits" were saying post Istanbul that the ONE thing Rafa had done was to buy himself some time to sort the squad out. problem is TOO many are mere squad players yet for us they're first 11.(ish) Traore, Josemi, Finnan, Sissoko,Crouch,Cisse, realistically there isn't even a right sided midfielder(winger). The only true CLbutt players you can count on one hand, this is the problem now- money and attracting those amongst THE best players.

I think, on balance i would rather us go all out to buy Joaquin and forget a CD rather than get an imitation of the real thing cos we got enough of them already. we need a player who can consistently beat his defender, be it on the right or left, in the Joaquin case obviously on the right where there is an abyss, mostly. 3 or 4 CLbutt players and we could muster ourselves into a real side, at the minute we are merely the average team we had formerly shown signs of collapsing into, for me it seems the collapse has taken over the norm, i haven't seen us play ONE full, even decent, let alone outstanding game this season, merely 15 or 20 minutes of "bossing" a game without actually playing that much football or as has now become the albatross SCORING A f***ing goal. Finally, it says something when Garcia comes on and changes the game. (albeit not enough)

regarding the league(and further) we now face the most financially powerful club ever(probably) as a benchmark, how different the EPL would be without Chelsea, the table as it is today WITHOUT Chelsea........ very interesting and probably a little more real.
