I am not going to argue that point since I did not watch the game. I will say, though, that Gerrard has to be the primary reason Liverpool won the Champions League.

Okay, fair enough different people have different views on it. Most importantly, however, it was a slice of luck that Liverpool were given the goal when goals that had more clearly crossed the line - such as Pedro Mendes' effort against Man U last season - had not been given. That is the sort of luck Arsenal just do not get.

We have been excellent against a fairly average group with a mostly fit squad, which we do not have anymore. You can only beat what is put in front of you, certainly, but Real Madrid are an entirely different prospect than Sparta Prague or FC Thun.

I think anyone expecting Arsenal to win the Champions League just because we're performing so poorly in the league is clutching at straws.

If Spurs finish above us it will be because they were the better team this season, and thus they will deserve a Champions League place regardless of whether or not Arsenal win it this year.
