Forget the fact that maybe Ted is a racist or not by previous posts, I don't actually have an opinion on that, I don't follow the group closely enough to comments, so you can say I'm a neutral in this situation. I'm just trying to interpret the contents of these 2 or 3 threads and it's just too simple to brand him a racist from these posts.
I was just looking for the bit where ted was supposed to have said, as you commented on up above, that Ted thinks the word paki isn't racist in the part of the world where we live?
Yeah, I think racism is important. People who supply racist abuse supply racist abuse for a reason. Why is that? To provoke a reaction. If the individual decides to fight racism, it's a recipe for disaster, I hope you'll agree. I've been racially abused (but not in this country) in the past and although I turned and faced them, did I think my aggressive actions back towards them would, a) stop them being racist again? b) make them more convinced that what they were saying was great because they got a rise out of me? Keep the 'Kick Out Racism' campaigns going. Racism in our country has been decimated compared to 20 or 25 years ago and whilst it's not perfect, you can look at countries like Spain and see how far we've come and be proud of ourselves. Ok, back to your post.
Ted DID NOT say racism is not a big issue, you're jumping to that conclusion. Ted simply expressed an opinion over what would offend him more. In fact, as someone of Asian descent and Ted knows not to call you a paki, are you not now glad that Ted will not call you a f***ing cunt?
