look at the stats, how many finals and semis did they make in those years? the reason Madrid never won it for 27 years are the same reasons that Liverpool never won it for 20 and manure for 31. However the point stands, the CL or European cup is dominated by groups of elite teams over several years. As has been over it's entire course. A bit like the football league. You want to win the CL, you have to beat THE best in Europe. We did.

well i didn't think for a second you were going to say LFC were the best team in the competition but as we won it, you'll simply have to concede that we were one of the most, if not THE MOST consistent, cos that's what won us the thing. You couldn't beat AC Milan, we could. You couldn't even score over a longer period of play against AC Milan. So who deserved to reach the final? And you can look to the same reasons for your capitulation this year.
no it doesn't, the best teams win it, year in year out. see the stats. if it's a lottery why do the same teams dominate the competition for long periods? 3 teams have contested more than 50% of the last 12 years CL finals winning 5 of those finals.

Ajax, 3 wins on the bounce, for a total of 4, more recently when they won it, they also made the final the following year and a semi the year after that?
