Very sensible view. I am far from convinced that Benitez is the right man for Pool, I doubt his ability to inspire the club and was amazed by his inaction in the first half of the CLC final. He was a very lucky man. Even so, it would be unfair to expect a rapid change in the team which performed so poorly in the league after just one close season. I doubt if he has the skills of Venger for finding bargains and not all that convinced by some of his buys so far, but he started with a very ordinary side which has so much to make up on the top three.
What the f*** happened last nightWhat the f*** happened last night? At around 11.30pm we tried to get Nobby Solano for £1.5M but he rejected it & signed for Newcastle. Why the f*** didn't we get...
Arsenal and Man U have sides which play like a team, something you seldom get over one season and Chelsea have surprisingly managed to do the same to some degree.

Last seasons Euro success has given fans an unrealistic idea of what it is sensible to expect. 4th place was always going to be difficult and might not be achieved with quite a few other improving sides in contention. To compete with the top 3 will take 2 or 3 seasons even if Benitez is up to it.
Already have games to make up. Started the season a few weeks before their rivals but still made that decision to go to Japan in December in the middle of a mbuttive domestic schedule? You have to wonder about the management don't you?
