Not sure how AFW got on the list of NGs for these posts, but I see that rec. photo.digital is still on it. That NG was basically end by thousands of similar posts-day. Nearly all were from google.groups and done with an anonymous mailer, that generated random From lines, often 100+ per post. If the person(s) behind it wanted to kill that group, they did a very good job of it. NewsGuy will not even open it most of the time, though there are about 50 ,000 articles shown - get an "Empty News Group" response from the server now. Let's just hope that the miscreatnts tire of including us in their posts and go away.

As google.groups seems to have no concern what is posted from there, or to where it is posted, I do not think that complaints will be bothered with, but I could be wrong.

As for an effective kill file, that depends on one's news reading software - nearly all are different. If the anonymous mailer program is used, each article will appear with a different From. You could then add a kill file for the Subject, but it will soon change. Not much hope if one wants to kill a group from google.groups.
