Lunch in paradise

I am eating lunch - OK not an unordinary occurrence - but today is a little special.

You see, today (here in New Zealand) it is Saturday (a little after 1pm).

Pacific Oysters (Crbuttotrea gigas) are farmed in the tidal estuaries all around my home - but these are wild (spat from the farms, grown on Mangroves in the area).

So, my lunch, being consumed as I write, consists natural oysters (shucked by myself) with a smidgeon of lemon juice (the real stuff, off my Meyer Lemon tree at the back door!); and a hint of freshly ground black pepper.

And, being a Saturday (no work) I have a glbutt of Matua Valley, Shingle Peak Sauvignon Blanc 2005 out of Marlborough.

I know that it is likely to be very late afternoon (in the US) or midnight (or thereabouts) in Europe, but I toast your good health, wherever you are.

I am in heaven.
