Magazine: Gourmet Traveller Wine Australasian publication

I was in the newsagent, and on a whim went to look for some wine publications. Every other time I've been in there there's never been anything.

Supreme Court strikes down wine shipment ban
Unfortunately, I fear this will turn out to be more of a symbolic victory than anything else. The forces allied to support the status quo are way too powerful to...

But they had Gourmet traveller Wine. Its a quarterly publication apparently.

Its really quite interesting. Its not really a technical mag, the notes are not particuarly long, and there is no technical discussion of wine making etc, but I found it really good for where I'm at right now.

Its got news, featured wine makers, lots and lots of wines and notes, travel and winery features and info. Its got some recipes.

For $8.95AU I couldn't put this mag down. Its a great read. Lots of glossy pictures, lables etc.

It is as I say, hardly for the expert unless you want a brief synopsis of various things, nor really for the complete beginner. Actually even a complete beginner might enjoy it.

In light of the recent discussion about the international tasting puff piece in Epicure the Age there is a pinot tasting, Mornington Peninsula versus the world. Also a fair bit on NZ pinot.

Tasting of 100 new releases, top wines, best buys etc.

It also has a very brief bit on the new Riedel glbuttes. Some Coonawarra and Hawkes Bay cav savs.

60 of the best global reds south america, europe, USA, no NZ pinot in this article tho, but plenty in another.

Jam packed full or reading.

It is probably mostly Australian, but there is also a lot of NZ content.
