Not everyone is convinced downunder #1- I have never suggested that M. Proney has falsified #'s. #2-I have never suggested or intimated that he lies about what he writes here. I have however stated my numbers on TCA on Cork taint is no where near what he suggests happens every day. I have no answer for that. I have also pointed out that if Screwpull cost $.35 less than cork in US$ than perhaps there might be other economic reasons that some wineries might prefer stelvin vs cork. You are making and taking a big leap to buttume I am impeaching his integrity. I simply am not. I do NOT however have the same rate. Also stated by a winery in NZ-Te Mata (correct spelling) they also feel that Scewpulls are not the best closure for long term wines. Is that also libel to you. There is NOTHING libelous about disagreeing with M. Proney. Your response here on this is wrong. If you take issue with spelling---so sorry. I have had dinner with Robert Parker about 15 years ago in Monkton Maryland at one of his neighbors houses. I think he is not opposed to diverse opinions with regards to wine. You might also find that he may not find fault with people finding differing opinions on what their personal experiences are. You took a big leap on this. I will state that TCA is an issue...but the solutions is not just Stelvin. It may not even be closure related as sited in the cases at Montelena and BV. Tell me why that is wrong to state. Granted I don't know as much about wine as M. Proney....I do know my personal experiences.
