Question: Who to visit in Fixin and St Romain Hello; Sumer is y-cumin in, merily sing cuckoo, or words to that effect. Hence, = the=20 Dynamic Duo (Xina and self) will be off to France next month. We plan to= =20 make a three night stop-over in Beaune, or just outside. Apart from visit= ing=20 our "regulars", and looking into a new adress in Meursault, we are going = to=20 spend some time in Fixin and St Romain. The frist, because Xina is seriou= sly=20 fond of the entry-level Fixin from Faiveley. The second, because we took = a=20 hike round the village last summer and were enthralled - it is too=20 beautifull for words. And, they make wine too! OK, it=B4s not one of the = great=20 communes, but we have found the odd bottle from there that we like. Now, does anybody have any suggestions for wine makers in the respective= =20 villages? By which I mean, producers based in the village, NOT big=20 negociants making wines from that area (Drouhin makes e g a very laudable= St=20 Romain). Hi Nils, Adele is a big fan of Fixin too. We've had some good stuff from a producer named if memory serves 'Huegonot', not sure if the spelling is right. The parcel is Les Herbues, that at least I remember. I think his joint is right in town. We have visited but not for many a moon. A friendly sort as I recall. Fixin is very charming indeed. Have you been to a resto called "Chez Jeane= tte?" Not sure it still exists, but nearly 20 years ago it was "with rooms," we s= tayed a night or two, I remember horribly soft mattresses propped up on paint cans. Food was very nice, though! :) -E --=20 Emery Davis by removing the well known companies
