Greetings Mr. Rosenberg, I remember your recent contributions here about history of Robert Parker. I'm sorry to read your testimonial...

Hamster solves that problem, Ken. It acts as a local news server, allowing you to link to any number of others. It integrates their feeds, creating a single newsgroup base, to which Agent then looks. It IS a more complex process, in that subscribing to a new group involved subscribing first in Hamster and then d-ling in Agent, but it does do the job and as I rarely find myself surfing non subscribed newsgroups, I can live with it. I agree with you, though, that Agent's lack of multiple newsfeed support is a major black mark. A good point on the other hand, is that one can have multiple instances running at the same time. One looks to Hamster to give perfect completion and the other can look to your best newsfeed, and give you a quick idea as to whether it's worth while. And of course NOT being the market leader it very rarely gets targetted by virus writers testing out the latest exploit. -- All the Best Ian Hoare mailbox full to avoid spam. try me at website
