Why Are Canadians So Arrogant

It depends what you mean by "socialist". Most Canadians like a capitalist system to generate and sustain the economy. But they also like a bit of socialism in the form of a social safety net and a number of public services.

It's not the US they hate. It's the Bush US. Bush's destructive and divisive policies have increased the suffering of human beings not only in the US but also throughout the world.

Because some of his priorities are right on the ball -- free education and healthcare for his people , and the Cuban people are among the most literate in the world.

I think in retrospect he will regret not using capitalism to generate and sustain his economy. But he's making it up with a quasi socialist-capitalist system that's pushing Cuba in the right direction with the help of Chavez and the exchange of oil for "doctors and clinics" program which they run very successfully.

Now if only he can let go the last vestiges of his police state . Although when you consider that up to 2 million people holiday there each year it can't be much of a police state anymore.
