alt.food.wine FAQ Apropos of a comment Max H. made awhile ago, I would like to propose that a new afw FAQ be created that addresses many of the more common questions posed to this newsgroup. I would be willing to post said document on a (weekly? biweekly? monthly?) basis to afw using a cron job (not a worry if this phrase doesn't mean anything to you -- it just means that it'll be automated). In thinking about such a document, here are the topics that I recall as being frequently asked: is it worth? I find more to buy? What is a good brand of wine storage cabinet to buy? Do those Riedel glbuttes really work? In additional to those questions, it might be useful to have a compendium of recommended wines still on the market from recent posts. A list of recommended food-wine matches is also a possibility. Also, a list of recommended Internet retailers might be a good feature. So, what do people think? Is this a useful idea? Do you have additional topics to add? Would you be willing to write a section of the proposed FAQ? I'd be happy to use whatever parts of Harm Ellens's FAQ that would be useful, but I think that it's important that we make more of an effort to get this information to the people who want it: the first-time posters and lurkers to afw.
