In the spirit of a gentle correction, I wish to point out that Bourdeaux is a town in the Drome (26) known locally as the gateway to Provence, and providing a stunning view of that last vestige of the Vercors, les Trois Becs. (OK, one might consider les Trois Becs part of the mbuttif du Diois. It's still the Vercors, except wine-wise.)

Just south of AOC Clairette de Die, Bourdeaux falls into no appellation known to me, not even generic Cotes du Rhone. There are some vines around, and it is gorgeous country. A skip from the pottery merchants at Dieulefit, or the excellent restaurant (whos name escapes me) at le Poet-Laval, where they will let you use the pool after lunch. (Come to think of it, there are a couple of swimming spots in the Roubion and nearby Jabron, too). Of course Bourdeaux is none to far from the Cotes du Rhone Villages just south, the excellent olives of Nyons, the valley of the Drome or Valence and the septentrional wine destinations. All in all a fine place to base a visit to the Rhone valley. (Actually I think the Poet-Laval is a hotel too, although I can't vouch for it. Don't know any place to stay in Bourdeaux itself).
