wine website question please have a look at : grtz, m some 2005 harvest info (no monkey bussiness) ----------- September 28th 2005 Côte d'Or Weather has been nice, warm and dry for the last fortnight. We benefited from the best conditions to harvest, choosing the best date for each vine. With such beautiful grapes, the wines could be exceptional, but it is wiser to wait for the end of fermentation before making further comments. Chablis The grape picking lasted from September 19th to 24th, and as in Côte d'Or, we enjoyed exceptional climatic conditions. In our domaine, quanbreasty is rather low but the sugar level is excellent. Oregon The harvest started this week. We are most happy. ----------------------------------------------------- September 9th 2005 Côte d'Or After a rather dry Summer period, at last we had some rain ! It was really welcome and the vine will take advantage of this climatic situation. The sanitary state is still excellent and the maturity is already very satisfactory, as proved by the following "ban de vandanges" (official picking of the grapes) : Côte de Beaune : September 12th Côte de Nuits : September 15th Hautes Côtes de Beaune and Hautes Côte de Nuits : September 17th Obviously, it is very early for our region. We hope for a great vintage. We do not know yet the peak period of our harvests, but some of our very young vines might be cut next week to be used as a fermenting starter. Chablis There too, the maturity develops quickly but the "bans de vendanges" are not yet known. The sanitary state and the quality potential are excellent, as in Côte d'Or. ---------------
