Hi, all. With all my different batches starting to come ready to bottle, I freed up a few one gallon jugs, so thought I'd start a small batch of Pinot Chardonnay from Alexander's Sun Country Juice Concentrate (from a wine making store). It's a 46 oz can. Once I got it (via internet)I found the recipe on the side of the can required 2 cans. Since I didn't want to make 5 gallons (not enough secondaries freed up yet) - I decided to do a 1-2 recipe. Here is where I need advice:

Current recipe for 5 gallons:

2 cans of juice concentrate (46 oz) 11 1-2 cans of cold water 5 cups of granular sugar 3 tsps Yeast Nutrient 4 tsps Bentonite 1 Package of Wine Yeast (i'll use EC-1118) 10 +or- 2tsps of Tartaric Acid-Acid Blend

what has been the strangest wine you have successfully made
Maple mead . The maple wine I made was not mead. For some reason it appears making wine is terribly complicated, or...

so Can i just do 1-2 of each of these items? Or would some still be whole (like the yeast, I'm sure i can use a whole packet) I buttume 1 can of juice, 5 1-4 cans of cold water. 2 1-2 cups of sugar, but then I get nervous with the other elements. Do I half all them as well?

I'll be adding oak chips since I like oak-ey chard's. I'm going for 2 1-2 gallons, which I'll use two one gallon secondaries plus 750 or 1500ml bottles for the rest until it racks down. Oh, on racking, the recipe says 1 to 1 1-2 campden tablet per gallon, which is normal for recipes.

I didn't find how to 1-2 a recipe at Jack's site or googling. (or my search words were not accurate)

Any advice would be welcome. Thanks for all the wisdom I find daily in this newsgroup.

p.s. found a new use for my cranberry wine - makes a wonderful Cosmopolitian -- 3 parts Cranberry wine, 1 part Triple sec, 1 part vodka. hmm. hmm. I hear Oprah had a POMEGRANATE wine Cosmo during the holidays, but I haven't made any Pomegranate wine.... yet. :*)
