If you've enjoyed Barossa wines at home, make your enjoyment complete by coming to see where we make the wine, our vineyards and the history behind it all.
Thousands of hectares of meticulously maintained vineyards make up our ?picture book? landscape with some of the old Shiraz vines dating back to the very first days of Barossa settlement in the 1840s.
Over five hundred grape growers, some now sixth generation, supply about sixty thousand tonnes of grapes to some fifty wineries each vintage.
Just as the industry was built on the success of names like Seppelt, Gramp and Lehmann, so it is today as young winemakers in the many small wineries produce wines of great character and quality, in company with the giants of the industry.
You will have the opportunity to taste and buy wines not readily available; small bin lots, limited release varietals, wines of fascinating variety; and sharing in the enthusiasm of the winemakers. A visit to each winery is a new experience. Many have outdoor picnic facilities, diversions for children, and winemaking displays. Some have informal dining.
Taste the crisp rieslings, the softer chardonnays and semillons, the rich shiraz, grenache and cabernets, but when you?re here, also taste the wines which were once our foundation - the tawny and vintage fortifieds, sweet and luscious dessert wines.
Ah, Barossa wine .... magnificent!
